1月17日 Golden Globe Awards '06Last night, the winners of the Golden Globe Awards were announced.
In the Motion Picture category, "Brokeback Mountain" took home the award of best drama picture, with director "Ang Lee" taking home the best director award. "Felicity Huffman" won the award for best actress in a drama picture for her role in "Transamerica", while "Philip Seymour Hoffman" won the award for best actor in a drama picture for his role in "Capote".
"Walk the Line" won the best musical or comedy picture award, with its stars "Reese Witherspoon" and "Joaquin Phoenix" winning the best actress and actor in a musical or comedy picture awards consecutively.
The TV winners included, "Lost" as the best drama series, "Gena Davis" as best actress in a drama series for her role in "Commander in Chief". "Hugh Laurie" Won the best actor in a drama series award for his role in "House". America's favourite, "Desperate Housewives", took home the award for best comedy or musical series. Actress "Mary-Louise Parker" won the best actress in a musical or comedy for her role in "Weeds", with "Steve Carell" winning the best actor in a musical or comedy for his role in "The Office".
Arab movies were also winners last night, with Palestinian movie "Paradise Now" winning the award for best foreign language movie.
sk8er boi 12月10日 My first 3D movieLastnight, I went to see my first iMAX 3D movie (the movie was Adventures in Animation 3D). The whole experience was cool, close to realistic at some point. The movie was about how 3D animations are built, it explains the process of creating the characters, animating them, and of course dressing them. It also presents a short "entertaining" funny movie about a boxer's first fight.
It also brought the question of whether animated actors will at some point replace real human actors? For me, some movies need to be done by real people, especially if they have a story with a deep meaning; but I wouldn't mind seing an animated comedy. What do you think?
It was better than I expected, didn't think it would be this much fun.
